Why should you
join us?  Because our routines are very unique, with a fresh young approach combining classic rhythmic skills with modern dance movements, even incorporating some cheerleading tricks when appropriate. Our gymnasts relate to their routines, music and the movements. They have a lot of fun while keeping fit and learning how to work as a team. Today in the Aesthetic Division York Stars currently has 3 groups of gymnasts training, Child, Junior and Senior ranging in age from 8 to 20 years old. The girls have all worked their way through the recreational ranks and have now moved on to the Elite Performing Groups. The gymnasts have been training anywhere from 2 years up to 14 years. Acceptance in these groups is by tryout only. The girls have traveled locally, nationally and internationally to participate in competitions and performances travelling as far as Germany, Sweden, Italy, The Canary Islands, Estonia, Moncton, New Brunswick in the 2002 Canadian Gymnaestrada; to the 12th World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal in July 2003; and to the Festival Del Sol in Italy, July, 2006. |
